  • What’s the difference between Mt. Airy CDC and Go Mt. Airy? 
    Mt. Airy CDC is our community development corporation (CDC) with 15 full- and part-time employees, and four core mission areas: Business Services, Community Programs (Schools Coalition, Placemaking Initiatives), Homes and Housing, and Real Estate Development. Go Mt. Airy is our promotional channel to champion the neighborhood, largely driven by social media.


  • What is the reach of Mt. Airy CDC’s online platforms?
    Mt. Airy CDC’s web sites, and (currently offline for restructuring), have an annual reach of 75,000 unique readers. As of January 2019, the Go Mt. Airy social media reach is as follows: over 8,900 Facebook subscribers, over 3,600 Instagram followers, and over 2,000 Twitter followers. We also have a monthly business-oriented Go Mt. Airy newsletter with a reach of over 3,000. All of these numbers continue to grow.


  • What kind of workshops can I expect in 2018?
    Our series of workshops range from certification of women- and minority-owned businesses to obtaining access to capital to back office support like taxes and payroll.


  •  What does branded hosting mean?
    Branded hosting means Wilma’s Widgets can either host a networking event in their location or have their brand highlighted, for example “Wilma’s Widget & the Business Association presents …”


  •  What types of events can my business co-host?
    It’s up to you. We hold networking sessions to build community, and opportunities to learn skills to grow your business. What services do you offer, and how can we help you promote them?
