Supper Sessions on the Avenue
On Tuesdays in September, the 7100 block of Germantown Avenue returns to the people. With Supper Sessions, hot meals, cold drinks, and table service come out onto the belgian blocks and trolley tracks of Germantown Avenue.
The block’s nine restaurants—Chef Ken’s Cafe, Cresheim Valley Grain Exchange, Earth Bread + Brewery, Golden Crust, The Juice Room, Jyoti, McMenamin’s Tavern, Mi Puebla, Trattoria Moma—are ready to serve up a taste of Mt. Airy, many with special dishes for Supper Sessions. Trolley Car Diner will bring their mobile bottle can shop; Frosted Fox will bring the sweets. Other businesses on the block—Queenie’s Pets, Rothe Florists, Blacqskirt, Nuono Vintage, The Shop on the Ave, Vendors’ Boutique, Sandaga and more—will stay open late.
Quintessence Theatre Group will warm up its 2017-18 season with Aesop’s Fables in September. Likewise, local musicians will take the stage for four sets of live music each night. Activities will be available for kids, with story time at 5:30. Learn more about local organizations at their tables, and support local artists and artisans at their vendor tents.
It’s Supper Sessions on the Avenue, and it’s coming to the 7100 block of Germantown Avenue every Tuesday in September: 9/5, 9/12, 9/19, and 9/26. (Weather permitting: Supper Sessions will be canceled in the event of rain.) Follow us on Facebook and Instagram and stay up to date.
PLEASE NOTE: The 55 parking spaces in the municipal lot behind Rothe Florist will be closed during Supper Sessions, but the 82 spaces in the Sedgwick parking lot are available. Enter on Chew Avenue (between E. Mt. Airy and E. Mt. Pleasant Avenues) and use the walkway up to the avenue.
