- What’s the difference between Mt. Airy USA and Go Mt. Airy?
Mt. Airy USA is our community development corporation (CDC) with 15 full- and part-time employees, and four core mission areas: Business Services, Community Programs (Schools Coalition, Placemaking Initiatives), Homes and Housing, and Real Estate Development. Go Mt. Airy is our promotional channel to champion the neighborhood, largely driven by social media.
- What is the reach of Mt. Airy USA’s online platforms?
Mt. Airy USA’s web sites, mtairyusa.org and gomtairy.com, have an annual reach of 75,000 unique readers. As of November 2016, the Go Mt. Airy social media reach is as follows: over 7,300 Facebook subscribers, over 2,000 Twitter followers, and over 1,400 Instagram followers. All of these numbers continue to grow.
- What is the online B2B community?
The Business Association will have a private Google Group for business-to-business interaction, collaboration, and sharing of ideas.
- What kind of workshops can I expect in 2017?
Our series of workshops range from certification of women- and minority-owned businesses to obtaining access to capital to back office support like taxes and payroll.
- What does branded hosting mean?
Branded hosting means Wilma’s Widgets can either host a networking event in their location or have their brand highlighted, for example “Wilma’s Widget & the Business Association presents …”
- What types of events can my business co-host?
It’s up to you. We hold networking sessions to build community, and opportunities to learn skills to grow your business. What services do you offer, and how can we help you promote them?
