Autumn on the Avenue is back for another family-friendly afternoon and the essence of fall. This year, bring the kids right over after school, as businesses on the 6700 and 6800 blocks of Germantown Avenue will be out on the sidewalk with sweets for trick-or-treaters.
We’ll also have an apple press for fresh cider, plus art stations for painting pumpkins and making things – including Go Mt. Airy trick-or-treat totes with Handcraft Workshop. The Fire Department’s Engine #9 will have a firetruck outside for exploring, and event sponsor Philly Office Retail will have fresh donuts from Trolley Car Diner. ARTrageous Brush & Flow will lead a leaf-painting activity outside of Fino’s Pizza (who’ll have a DJ and food specials), pumpkins are available for painting too, and we’ll have an apple press making fresh cider outside Enterprise Rent-a-Car. Bella Mosaic Art will have a paper mosaic station, and next door, CAMA: Community Acupuncture of Mt. Airy will have healthy treats and an Acupuncture Groove to calm the mind and uplift the soul. High Point Cafe will have hot cocoa and gluten-free SNACKOLA (with popcorn, nuts and more) outside Malelani Cafe Mt. Airy, who’ll have their teas and platters on display – ahead of their usual Thursday night open mic (beginning at 7). Action Karate Mt. Airy & PFCU will be set up outside of Mary’s Learning Academy, and lots of businesses will have candy and goodies for trick-or-treaters.
And leading up to Autumn on the Avenue, Trades for a Difference will help us lead a Little Free Library build day, resulting in two more LFLs to be added to the growing Mt. Airy map. If you’re over 16 and would like to help, sign up HERE.
